C.S. Lewis, author of The Chronicles Of Narnia, once wrote:“You’re never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.” Truer words have never been written.

No matter where we are in our careers, it is never too late to pivot to a new direction.

Dr. Tonya Harris Cornileus recently interviewed me for her Aha! Life Podcast and Youtube channel.  We had a deep conversation about what is a second act and what does it look like. She asked me the following questions:

  1. How might we define a second act?
  2. When would people contemplate a second act?
  3. What prompts someone to pursue a second act?
  4. What should people think about in planning for a second act?
  5. What might prevent someone from exploring their second act?

In planning for a second act you will see patterns emerge about what you love to do best and what you find most meaningful in your life and work.

Our second act will be most successful if we take the time to carefully prepare.

During this time  when so many of us are working remotely, we find ourselves thinking about what a second act may look like. We may even ask ourselves if now is the perfect time to start the search. If the answer is yes, please let me know if you are thinking about planning for your second act.

Are you ready to lead through an intentional transition to your second act?
